Stars of David Research Conference Coming to ASU

On November 16 and 17, Film and Media Studies and Jewish Studies hosted a conference on the Jewish experience in American Film. Featured scholars included Lester D. Friedman (Hobart and William Smith College), Thomas Doherty (Brandeis University), Catherine Portuges (University of Massachusetts), David Sterritt (National Socity of Film Critics), Murray Pomerance (Ryerson University), and Vivian Sobchack (UCLA). Topics included Hollywood moguls during the Nazi era, Jewish immigrant directors, Holocaust imagery, screen performances, and Barbara Streisand.
