Emphasis in Media Industries

New digital technologies, viewing platforms, and consumption habits have dramatically affected the structure and dynamics of the entertainment industries. Students in the Media Industries area of emphasis analyze the growing integration of storytelling, advertising, brands, and audiences within the current film and media landscape, with a particular focus on corporate structure, production culture and regulation. Grounded in the Humanities, this track culminates in a capstone experience in which students produce a research paper or design a creative project on a subject related to the contemporary media industries.

The Media Industries area is supervised by Professor Kevin Sandler. For more information on this area of emphasis, you may contact him at: Kevin.Sandler@asu.edu.
